David kicked off as a pop star in NZ music success story ‘The Muttonbirds’ when he was a wee lad. He is also behind the Misty Mountains song in Peter Jackson’s first Hobbit film, along with Plan 9. Documentaries Gardening with Soul, Beyond the Edge and 25th April also have him at the helm of their scores. He is a skilled tea-maker and plays with many a band, including the extremely cool ‘Teeth’ with Phoenix Foundation’s Luke Buda.
John Silvester went from architectural study to film study and never looked back. He won three awards upon graduating from The New Zealand Film and Television School, including Outstanding Student. After working as an assistant editor on Street Hospital for the Gibson Group, he took on the job of making sense of 150 hours of a feature documentary. Respected editor and mentor Annie Collins took him under her wing. John is based in Auckland and works on his own films and also for Untold Projects, a commercials content production company. He likes music, literature, and long walks on the beach. And sunsets.
Mel is a well known and well loved sound effects editor and designer who works regularly with prestigious Park Road Post. Her credits include The Hobbit trilogy, The Adventures of Tintin, The Lovely Bones and King Kong just to name a few.
